- If you're looking for
a fun site with great general information about the dairy industry
you should take a look at Moo Milk.
This site is done by a dairy in California and will be great for people
looking for a background on the dairy industry. Don't let the fun
look put off the older kids, the site has some very useful information.
- How about a cool site
for beef cattle. Take a look at CowTown
America put on the web by the National Cattlemen's Association.
If you're looking for some great pictures for your next report or
just to jazz up the computer at home then you'll want to be sure and
take a look at their Art
Gallary.
- Want to know more about
wool? Try About Wool from the
International Wool Secretariat. They have pictures, QuickTime movies,
written description...just about anything you could want to know about
wool.
- How about dairy information?
The National Dairy Database has an entire section with information
for youth and adult volunteers. If you're looking for dairy information
check out 4-H
Dairy Publications.
- Do you want some information
on your favorite breed of livestock, or are you just curious about
one you've heard about? Well, we have a couple of places for you to
look for information. You might try the Breeds
of Livestock Project at Oklahoma State. They have listings on
many beef, diary, horse, sheep and swine breeds including histories,
photographs and Quicktime movies. Or you might try the Livestock
breeds in the USA from USDA/ARS. They have all the breeds listed,
with association addresses and a brief background on each breed. Another
site to try is the Listing
of Beef Cattle Breeds from Colorado State. They have a nice listing
of the breed associations in the U.S., Canada and Australia. They
also have histories and photographs on a couple of the breeds.
