Why are some of the words blue and some purple?

When you are viewing documents using a web viewer you will notice that there are numerous words in either blue or purple. These are 'hyperlinks'. Hyperlinks are direct access to some other information. It might be another web document, text, software or a PDF file. They are provided to give you direct access to other information. Hyperlinks are the basic idea behind the entire web. By using these, people who write web documents can very easily provide you with access to related information any where in the world. In Netscape the links that you have not visited will be shown as blue and the links you have already visited will display as purple.

You might also notice when you are pointing to a hyperlink the cursor changes from a small arrow into a hand with a finger pointing. With this information you can see the URL for that hyperlink. When you put the cursor over the hyperlink look at the bottom left edge of the screen and the URL will be displayed.
