Performance Bull Testing

Performance bull tests are 112 days in length. During the test, bulls are evaluated for each of the following:

  • Average daily gain
  • Weight per day of age
  • Adjusted 365-day weight
  • Scrotal circumference
  • Ultrasound data (ribeye area, fat thickness, and percent intramuscular fat)
  • Hip height
  • Performance ratios
  • Expected progeny differences (EPDs)

*If you would like to test a breed that is not listed above, please contact the office or the station for testing information.

*Each and every bull tested at OBI must be BVD-PI tested. We recommend that you have the test ran before delivering your bull to OBI; however, if needed, your bull will be tested upon arrival for a $25 fee. Should the results come back positive, you will be notified immediately to come pick-up your bull. This rule became effective in June, 2007.
