Breeds of Livestock - Brazilian Somali Sheep
Also known by: Somali Brasileiro (Port), Rabo gordo
The Brazilian Somali is a hair breed which originated from the Blackhead Persian crossed with local sheep. Four pairs of breeding animals were imported from the West Indies in 1939. The breed is white with a black head. Both sexes are polled and it is small framed. They are one of the fat tail breeds.
