Also Known As: Gemsfarbige Gebirgsziege, Chamoise des Alpes, Chamoix Alpine, Camosciata alpinaThis dairy and meat breed found in Switzerland belongs to the Swiss Mountain group. They are brown in color with black face-stripes, back stripe, belly and legs. They can be either horned or polled.
The following breeds originated from the Chamois Colored; Belgian Fawn, German Improved Fawn, the Camosciata delle Alpi in Italy and the Oberhasli in the United States.
