About Dr. Pezeshki

Dr. Adel Pezeshki graduated with B.Sc. (2003) and M.Sc. (2006) degrees in Animal Sciences from Zanjan University and Isfahan University of Technology, respectively. In 2010, he obtained his Ph.D. in Veterinary Sciences from Ghent University. He then spent five years to complete his postdoctoral training in physiology and metabolism at University of Calgary.

In 2016, he joined Oklahoma State University, where he is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Animal Science. Dr. Pezeshki teaches Nutritional Physiology and Metabolism, Principles of Animal Nutrition and Basic Nutrition for Pets. Dr. Pezeshki’s research focuses on nutritional physiology. In particular, he is interested in understanding the physiological mechanisms by which dietary proteins or individual amino acids regulate energy balance and metabolism. Using pigs as experimental units, the goal of Dr. Pezeshki’s research is to investigate the potential of dietary protein and amino acids in modulating the energy balance, identify key molecules that regulate these changes and characterize the pathways for their action.
