Over the past decade the Department of Animal Science has developed a
number of software packages to meet the various needs of animal agriculture.
Under the Extension
Software section you will see a listing of our software with author
and a short description and machine requirements. The software name is
a hyperlink that will allow you to
download the software to your local computer. To download one of the programs
just follow the steps listed here:
- Click on the name of the software you want to download.
- You should now have a pop-up window asking you if you would like to
"Save to Disk", "Cancel Transfer" or "Configure a Viewer". Click on
"Save to Disk".
- You should have the standard pop-up window for saving a file. Select
the drive and directory where you want the information to be saved.
You should also check the file name and make sure its a legal file name
for your system. All of our software are distributed as self-extracting
zip files so the name of our files should always end with exe (i.e.
the Crossbreeding Simulation is xbred.exe). Once you have setup everything
correctly click on OK or press enter.
- Your browser will now begin to download the file to your local drive.
You can view the progress at the bottom of the screen. One word of caution,
if you load it to a diskette make sure there is enough room because
many times it will just stop the download without telling you there
was a problem.
